Thanks @Phil_Seeman , @Bastien_Siebman for your inputs. The clear goal of this topic is indeed to focus on the ‘numbers’ in regards to the limitations of the platform.

So reconsidering, I have removed 1.6 as well as a few others which, in hindsight, could be considered missing features rather than limitations. So moving onwards, will be open to suggestions that include ‘numbers’ - thus new emoji added in the title to remind us

4.9. Limit of 30 Subtasks to calculate column function of custom fields

Once the 31st subtask is added to a task, the column function (Sum, Average, Count etc) the in List view of a project provides an error that the resulting value can no longer be calculated (as it did for up to 30 subtasks). This applies to all number-type custom fields such as numbers, percent, currency and time tracking. Additionally, if any sort is applied to the List view, the value of the subtasks no longer roll up as shown in the guide; instead only the value of the parent task is displayed.

Just reading through this post again, and one note regarding 4.2: it’s actually not as simple as stated here.

I’m told that the internal technical limit is “a maximum of 45 total dependents plus dependencies on one task”. However, in addition to this limit, there are some other limits in a few various parts of the Asana UI - these are not currently consistent with each other or with the “45 total” limit, unfortunately, and I don’t have a list of what all of those UI limits on dependents and dependencies are.

I’m told there is a backlog item for Asana developers to clean this up and make the dependents/dependencies limits consistent across the product, but I have no idea if or when that might happen.
