Someone deleted the “overview” on one of our projects, and there is no way to get it back. We worked on this for months and it is gone in one accidental click. Is there any way to retrieve this information?
@Bridget_O_Sullivan, You could try Support; they might be able to restore it but I’m not sure.
To create a support ticket, go to www.asana.com/support (make sure you are logged in to Asana) > click the chat icon at the bottom right > type “speak to an agent” > click “Yes” > click “Something Else” > click “Create a support ticket.”
Thanks,
Larry
I agree with others–an undo button is a basic function that would be so vital to include. I accidentally joggled an item that made it move to complete and could not respond quickly enough to the temporary box to reverse it. Then it was gone and I’ve searched all the projects to try to identify which item I accidentally completed. Can’t find it and have no idea which task is now missing.
Welcome, @Miyoko_Chu,
For now you can do Search box > Advanced search > Add filter > More > Deleted > then click the Deleted box and search.
The results are sorted by last modified date so yours should be near the top.
Thanks,
Larry
This would be so helpful! When a team member accidentally changes a task and removes any existing data, it is a huge waste of time to have to manually redo everything
No undo? seriously?
Any Updates?
I can’t believe how much we’re paying for a product without this basic functionality. As many people have said above, it is WAY too easy to accidentally update multiple selected tasks because I’ve forgotten that I’ve selected multiple tasks. I just accidentally updated all of the due dates for 150 tasks and now instead of doing my actual work I need to go through and manually update each one. This is BANANAS.
Agreed, Asana this is a basic function we all need! Please help
Please, please create an undo function that lasts more than 15 seconds after the process has been done.
It would be even better to have an undo and redo function. The best would be to be able to undo several steps back and redo several steps forward.
This is a MUST HAVE.
I just moved all tasks by mistake in a project and was not able to undo.
This gives me more work, not less.
This should be a HIGH PRIORITY.
Please! Please prioritize development of the Undo feature. Here’s an example of why this is important: I am reviewing the timeline with a client or with my internal team and am moving tasks around as we discuss options and consequences. I make three or four adjustments and decide that it wasn’t the right solution. Undo, undo, undo… and I’m back at the beginning, where I need to be. This is how I solve problems! I do this all the time in other programs and rely on the Undo function to step backward through a sequence.
I just made an accidental change to a task name in a template and accidently clicked out of the box. The box disappeared as well as the undo. I don’t know what I accidently deleted and now browsing the forums, I see we have an obvious problem here. A revision history would be monumentally helpful. It’s a little crazy ( and I was always a little nervous) that this would happen. Now it did, and it’s face palm ridiculous that this has not been added since 2016. I’m sure even the staff using this software is asking about this as I’m sure someone made mistakes since then.
It is beyond ridiculous that control+z is not a thing for this application.
Completely agree with everyone on this thread. The navigation history is very helpful, it would be great to have an activity history pain where changes could be undone.
Asana is incredibly powerful and easy to use, that same ease of use unfortunately renders the possibility for unintended actions (accidental deletes, accidental creations, moving tasks around where you don’t want to).
I’ve just discovered an issue where it seems like all new tasks created using the add task button default to “Done” (don’t know if this is a new bug/glitch). I tried to manually move it, apparently whole section of “Done” tasks were highlighted and they all moved to the New section when I dragged and dropped…
An undo would have been very convenient here.
I was a Monday user for 5 years and recently changed companies. My new company uses Asana, which so far has been great!
However… I wanted to check if a text entry column for Submitter (people were inputting their names as text) could be converted to a Submitter “People” column. Success! I went to Hide the text only column, but accidentally hit delete instead.
There was no 10 second undo box at the bottom, nothing. Ctrl+Z didn’t work. This has been a known issue since 2016 and your competitors do this flawlessly.
Product Feedback Please add this functionality!
I can’t beleve that there is no histroy or robust undo in Asana, I just accedently moved 2 cards but did not see which 2 cards I moved. Now there is no way for me to find out what I did! Or any way to undo it. Very dissapointing
Welcome, @Rupert_Russell,
I know it’s not ideal, but as a workaround until/if undo arrives, you can do an advanced search > add filter > dates > modification date > today and sort by date modified to see most recent modifications.
Thanks,
Larry
Thanks for the tip. I will give it a go.
It’s 2024 and there is still no undo button/keyboard combination… This is getting ridiculous.
