Yes, @Niel_Bowerman, I just checked and see it’s working for me too; thanks!
Is there an ETA on when this will be available in the mobile app?? The majority of my team works off iPads, and its a huge bummer that we cannot use time tracking on mobile yet.
Hi @Marie Is it possible to view what format you view estimated time in (minutes, hours, days) - I’m currently pulling estimated time into a dashboard for reporting and it’s been populating in ‘weeks’ - anyway to set it to hours?
@Laura_Screnci I have the same preference and would like to have the option to display hours vs days/weeks for ‘actual time’ too. Looks like someone posted on this previously and the response was to choose a different field (not an option for me): New! Track time on your Tasks in Asana ⏱ - #154 by Jeremy_Gregory
Not sure I’m posting in the right area but I really, really want to be able to do an advanced search and put Actual Time in the custom fields filter and generate a CSV. It looks like I can do that with estimated hours but not Actual time?
I really hope this is coming? Can anyone confirm?
@Marie - Hey! Are there any updates as to when a timesheet will be available or all users?
This new feature is definitely cool, but kinda useless unless there is a way for each user to view all of their time entries in one place for the week by day and adjust as necessary. We currently use Everhour, and cannot move from Everhour to Asana without a timesheet. (Timesheets are 100% necessary for hourly employees - and I think most companies at least have a few hourly employees). Everhour does have a great timesheet, so is a good example to look at for what might be possible for Asana.
Fingers crossed this is happening Q1 or Q2 of 2023!!!
Are guests able to track their time?
I haven’t had a chance to check yet. @Bastien_Siebman, any idea if we’re able to get Est. time
and Actual time
via the API like any other custom field or are they being treated as a special type of custom field?
Hello All,
First time user here.
2 Questions :
#1 - Regarding the new Time Tracking feature, I see a couple posts on exporting/downloading hours by user. Is this available yet, b/c I don’t see it. Hoping I can export total hours worked by user, by project, by week/month (or any combination of these 3 variables : worker(s), project(s) and time period (between day 1 and day ‘x’ or month 1 and month ‘x’)
#2 - Does Time Tracking include RBAC? e.g. if Person A inputs hours on project X on Monday; Person B views this entry on project X on Tuesday; Person A adds (or subtracts) hours from Project X on Wednesday; if Person B logs in on Thursday and sees the ‘new’ hours under project X, will s/he be able to tell (a) if it was change; (2) who changed it; and (3) when they changed it??? e.g. can a user change their entry (up or down) and the others (especially supervisor) see that change…or will they just see the ‘latest’ number?
Apologies for the long post. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
My apologies…looks like I’m NOT a first-time users…I was on 2.5 years ago.
I think there was info on the forum somewhere, I’ll let Asana answer officially as dates on the roadmap tend to change.
You can get both of those through the API. Actual time is named actual_time_minutes, I believe
Apologies if this has already been asked. For reporting, we would like to have a graph of estimated AND actual time on the same chart (and not have to create two charts) so we can see if we have made our budgets. I can’t see how to easily do this.
Even if I export the job as a csv file, it doesn’t show a summary of estimated vs actual
time at the bottom, so also not very helpful.
Thanks much @Dave_McFarland1!
When will the Time Tracking (Estimated / Actual) subtask roll up be available to ALL Asana users? I’m anxiously awaiting this feature for my team, thanks!!
We are excited to share that we now support actual time metrics in reporting
With this update, users can use the filter ‘Time added by’ when ‘Actual Time’ is selected as Y-axis. This change is available in all dashboards including project, portfolio, and universal reporting! It is now available to 100% of users
@Rebecca_McGrath following back up…because in some cases I would like subtask rollup to happen, however, if there is no control over whether this occurs, it will be problematic and could pretty much destroy my department’s current task/peer review/approval structure where a subtask may be representative of someone else’s work.
100% need this ASAP. The time period ranges are not helpful, we need more options there for real world use.
Does anyone know if there is a way to add actual time for another user on the team?
Hi Dylan, have a look at my post above:
