Keep collapsed sections collapsed when saved under "Save layout as default"

+1

With increased volumes, I sometimes donā€™t even reach the last section Iā€™m looking for before Asana needs to reload. It is time-consuming.

I can access the tasks Iā€™m looking for using advanced search, but it adds pain and then friction, even with saved reports.

Iā€™m very positive that we will see an upgrade from Asana soon. :person_in_lotus_position::pray::blush:

Iā€™m honestly considering moving to Workflowy simply because this feature isnā€™t in Asana.

Hi @Phil_Seeman any updates on keeping project sections collapsed?

Hi @Daniel_Fernandez1,

Not that I know of. Please note that I donā€™t work for Asana so I donā€™t have any real inside infoā€¦

Haha, got ya.
This is a much needed feature, hopefully they work on it soon.

Hi @Emily_Romando you work at Asana? any updates on this feature?

Donā€™t expect any concrete answer. Asana doesnā€™t reveal its roadmap whatsoever. Weā€™ll know it when they implement it and probably not a second earlier.

Hi @Daniel_Fernandez1, I donā€™t have concrete date to share yet, but this is something our team is aware of and exploring. Iā€™ll be in touch here and will post in announcements as soon as Iā€™ve more news.

As for our roadmap, @Nicolas_Fischer is right, as it stands we donā€™t share it publicly. You can learn why in the following post: How weā€™re listening to your product feedback.

Please fix this.

Imagine if you moved the furniture in your office around to suit your workflow better and then every time you went home for the day and came back to work the next morning all the furniture was back in itā€™s original location. That would be unproductive wouldnā€™t it.

Perfect analogy!

Very well said, Alex.

Feature request: Currently when you hit the arrow next to a section to minimize the list of tasks under it, there is no memory when you return to the project. So all of of the sections you have minimized you have to minimize every time you go to the project. It would be very helpful if Asan had a memory to your last visit settings.

This would be a huge convenience feature, and would help larger projects not chug on browsers when we need to scroll to older sections of a project. Canā€™t +1 this feature enough!

I get so frustrated using Asana as I need to repeatedly close sections or do a ton of scrolling to find what I need. We have the save layout as default option but the main layout part I want to save doesnā€™t work. Many in my team have the same remark and we have moved some projects off Asana because of this reason. We canā€™t afford to repeatedly loose time.

I am not sure how this has not been addressed yet. Asana is supposed to keep your information organized - why should have to scroll for ages through expanded sections of a page every single time I revisit a page?

So many requests for logical feature. Pretty please Asana gods.
