Hi Vanessa, thank you for the comprehensive Release Notes! There are some exciting items on this list! Can you tell me how to skip Holidays using this new feature to use Work Schedules in rules? I see the option to respect the project schedule. But in the project schedule options, I dont see a clear way to avoid holidays. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

@Vanessa_N thank you and the team for this update! Really happy to see notes on iOS

@Anna_Jos ‘s question reminded me of something I’ve been thinking about for a while if you are able to offer some insight please. The capacity planning / resource management features in Asana make really basic assumptions about user’s availability. It would be incredibly powerful if shifts for users could be set in Asana so the actual hours they are available can be factored into work planning. I don’t mean this should go as full as a full HR/calendar management system, but a module that details users’ work days/hours and time off (on an actual YYYYMMDD basis rather than as a generic M/T/W/T/F type ‘typical week’ repeating pattern) could be really useful.

Is that something Asana has ever reviewed? Does it fit in with the team’s general design paradigms?

Cheers!

@Vanessa_N - so many fantastic updates! Thank you so much for these awesome release notes

  • (Personal) Notify users when they are mentioned in task descriptions : This new behavior means you’ll receive a notification when @mentioned in a task description.

This is fantastic news. This has caused user confusion for years. Thank you team!

  • (Personal) Saved tabs on Android : See all the custom views created for projects and to more easily switch between them on Android.

Wow, this is awesome! I did also notice that when the user first visits the project now, it does default to the correct saved tab, the one set as default in the actual project. This is awesome! Much much needed. Many thanks!
QUESTION: is this already supported on iOS as well?

Great update! These types of filters are very helpful for making the project more useful for each individual person! I’ll be very eager to see when are you these dynamic filters can apply to subtasks. Dynamic me filters cause some problems when a user visits that tab and thinks they don’t have any assignments, but they don’t see them because those assignments are subtasks.

These fields are going to be so powerful, even moreso now with rules support!
QUESTION: I see reference fields in conditions and triggers. Are they going to be available in Actions too?

  • (Starter) Risk reports : Discover risks in your projects before they become an actual blocker. This new option in project Smart Summaries identifies project risks and suggests mitigations.

Loving these reports already. In most cases, the content has actually been very helpful. Thanks devs!

  • (Starter) Work schedules for rules : In the rule builder you can now enable work schedules when setting relative dates. Automatically adjust relative dates to business days, ensuring automated workflows respect your team’s working hours and skip weekends or holidays.

Long needed and so great! Muchas gracias to devs!

  • (Starter) Shareable custom task types : You can now share custom task types with other people, meaning you can add any task types to a project via the Customize menu.

As soon as fully supported with all features available to regular tasks (e.g. bulk edit status), these are def going to be a favorite!

  • (Advanced) API support for time filtering by time range : Asana has added API support to set a start date and end date (YYYY-MM-DD) to filter time entries by a defined period. This enables reliable, automated monthly exports to external systems and improves reporting accuracy without manual work.

This is great news too for third-party apps. We appreciate it!
QUESTION: do they have any plans for API support for the date a time entry is related to, not just when it was entered? Meaning, currently, via the API, we can see a time entry was entered on Friday, but we can’t see that the time was dated as time executed on Thursday, the day before.

Thanks again for the excellent updates @Vanessa_N and the teams that have worked hard on all these!

Great, but please create a library of custom type tasks as a custom field, so they can then be shared across projects. But to be honest, I’m not entirely sure where this is heading.

Thank you.
