Dynamic Me Filter now works with people custom fields & task creators!

Hi Asana Community,

I’m excited to announce we’ve expanded the “Me (dynamic)” filter in projects to give you even more personalized views of your work.

Key details:

  • People Custom Fields filtering: See only tasks where you’re tagged in any People Custom Field
  • Creator filtering: Filter to show just the tasks you’ve created
  • Works everywhere: Available on Projects, My Tasks, and Portfolios
  • Any view type: Use it in List, Board, Calendar, Timeline, and all other view types
  • Dynamic and personal: Each team member sees their own relevant tasks automatically

This is especially powerful for teams that use People Custom Fields to track multiple assignees, reviewers, stakeholders, or any other people-related data. Now everyone can quickly filter to see just their relevant tasks!

As always, we’d love to hear how you’re using this new filter. Drop your thoughts and use cases in the comments below. Happy filtering! :tada:

This is really great. Please could you consider exposing Collaborators as a filterable field too, as this would let us create a view showing all tasks we are casually involved with as well as the ones assigned to us. I’m already simplifying multiple views into just one dynamic one with this, thanks.

For interest, our particular use case is a custom field that shows ‘people who could be assigned to this’ in a sort of Kanban/time-based workflow - an IT jobs board. So we each filter down by this custom field so we can see what tasks we can choose from, and then we assign them when we know it’s definitely us doing it since we got there first. It means we each need our own board view, and the more staff we get, the more views.

If we replace this custom tag column with People, we can use the dynamic Me filter to show just our own ‘potentially assigned’ tasks.
