Hi Vanessa,
In Asana Release Notes April 2025 you mentioned that now it will be allowed to export time tracking to CSV file (Asana Help Center). I cannot see this change in my Asana. Could you please advise when this change will be rolled out to all customers?

Hi @AnnaPapiernik, yes, this has been fully launched.

You should see the new option in the drop-down menu under export options:

Just a heads-up: the “Time entries as CSV” option will only appear if your project contains time entry data. If time tracking isn’t being used in the project, this option won’t be visible.

Hope this helps!

Re: " 12-hour data caching for PowerBI / Tableau"…

  • How will users know when the newest data is available?
  • Is there an indicator somewhere that lets users know when cached data has been updated? (If no indicator exists, it becomes difficult, at best, to construct procedures and systems based on the data.)
  • Is the refresh triggered by a user or is it automatically cached at a 12-hour interval? (Again, if the latter, when is the refresh?**) What effect does refreshing a PBI data model have on the 12-hour caching, if any?

This limitation is constraining in a negative way. Our org needs to synthesize task data with other data from outside of Asana to generate client-requested reporting. The formats are not up to us, and it is not a viable option to grant the client access to Asana, so we are left with no way to know how current our reporting information is.

Thank you.

@Vanessa_N Can you help me understand how the Custom Work Schedules work? We often upload sets of tasks into Asana, and I was excited for a moment thinking that this feature might automatically shift dates for us so that we don’t schedule tasks on weekends. But my very quick test seems to show that it doesn’t work like that.

Hi @AnnaPapiernik, thank you for the additional context! I checked in with our PMs, and they confirmed that the “Time entries as CSV” feature was temporarily rolled back after some bugs were detected. That’s why you’re not seeing it at the moment. :frowning:

I’m keeping an eye on their progress, and I’ll be sure to share an update here in the Forum as soon as there’s a new ETA for full release. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime!

Hi @Adam_Caruso, I’m sorry for the trouble. I’ve passed your questions and feedback along to our Integrations team to see if they can share any additional insights. As soon as I have an update I’ll get back to you.

Hi @Katie_Kendle, happy to share more info. “Custom schedules” adds schedule awareness for tasks with dependencies & SLAs. This will allow users to:

  1. Create a project schedule for dependencies and SLAs on any day(s) of the week
  2. Ensure that schedule is respected when using dependency features (like autoshifting and Gantt duration) and timer custom fields to represent SLAs.

This update brings more structure to our request tracking (ticketing) capabilities.

That said, it won’t automatically move task dates off weekends unless those tasks are part of a dependency chain or include SLA timers. I hope this helps clarify!

Vanessa, Thank you very much!
