Hi,
Within My Tasks, I have some recurring tasks which use a global field named Status . I have a simple rule set up to change the status to Complete whenever one of the these tasks has been marked as complete.
However, when the task gets recreated, it retains the status Complete rather than To Schedule as the following rule only works for brand new tasks.
Does anyone know a way to apply this to recurring tasks as it’s a bit of a pain having to manually reset these each time.

What you are experiencing with recurring tasks is expected behaviour, since it actual duplicate the task, along with the values of any custom fields.
Unfortunately it is not possible to overcome this issue by using a rule because the recurring tasks is not treated as a new task added to the project. So both triggers ‘task is moved to a section’ or ‘task is added to this project’ have no effect for this case, in order to action the status, for ex…

Reccurring tasks not responding to rules
Steps to reproduce:
Add sections ToDo and Done in My Tasks (I’m guessing other projects behave the same, but I’ve seen it in My Tasks)
Make recurring task in section ToDo
Add rule to move completed tasks to section “Done”
Now the task gets moved to “Done” and the new occurence is created in the same section.
Even when I make another rule that tries to catch the new task being created and…
