Hi All,
We’ve recently migrated to Asana from our own Excel-based project management tool. One handy feature in our original tool was the ability to select a set of tasks, then change the base due date, which would allow for all task due dates to be populated based on this selection.
For example, most of our task sets contain the following tasks: Receive Brief, Receive Final Artwork, Despatch Items & Campaign Live. Our client often knows the live date, so all dates will be created from that relative date. However, we may also be asked to despatch ASAP based on receipt of artworks, so we’ll create them a CPA based on the “Receive Final Artwork” relative date, or “Despatch Items” relative date.
The only way I’ve managed to do this so far is with 4 separate templates - 1 for each of the relative dates listed above. This is proving cumbersome, as we have 10+ task sets, each requiring 4 separate templates each, and any changes to a task set requires changes across 4 templates, introducing possible error. It’s also cause for confusion when knowing which template to select.
My ask to address all these issues is for the introduction of optional, additional named Due Date columns in template creation, which would allow the user to select, from a new dropdown, the relevant relative Due Date they need when creating a project.
