I am requesting guidance on how to print an Asana project to pdf… in app or in browser.
Questions:
Is it true that the Asana App cannot print, and thereby cannot print-to-PDF?
If the Asana App can print-to-PDF, could you please share the instructions?
App Behavior
In the Asana app, have tried Ctl-P. Alt does nothing. I have gone to the Home page and right-clicked and see no “Print” option. If I am missing it, please help and guide me to it.
Browser Behavior
Then it dawned on me that I could use the browser to print…
I opened the project in Edge and in Chrome and…
in Edge, the first page printed to PDF… correct landscape format…
…BUT the PDF also contains 877 blank pages… absolutely, completely blank pages… 887 of them.
in Chrome, the first page printed to PDF… incorrect portrait format, with columns that fit in the PDF-from-Edge missing in the print-from-Chrome…
AND the PDF also contains 1,109 blank pages… absolutely, completely blank pages… 1,019 of them. that’s not a typo… one thousand and nineteen blank pages.
Work-around
Work-around… use Microsoft Snipping tool and capture print screens and paste them into PowerPoint.
This work-around will enable us to track progress… circa 1990’s technology - print-screen and paste.
Question:
Surely Asana has a print-to-PDF capability.
If not, how soon can the Dev team deliver it?
Asana offers printing but in just two, inflexible ways: Project actions menu > Sync/Export > Print to print all tasks, and Task actions menu > Print to print one task. I recommend you Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team.
As @Herve_Buisset kindly mentioned, you can also consider Asana2Go (Disclaimer: I’m the creator):
Project actions menu… oh wow… took 5 minutes but i found it… any idea why anybody would bury “print” three layers deep? first layer - a down arrow next to a project name that nobody thinks to click… second layer - Sync/Export… THEN… Print… oh my my my my my (asana dev team… can we not deliver some key basic functions? yes! can we deliver others and hide them so they can’t be found? YES! )
ok so it printed… 25 pages… rediculously long… because none of the on-screen table / tabular format is retained… instead of a table the text in the table is all left justified…
PRO… it did print all the sub tasks - nice
as one of my many many disappointments of Asana is the inability to be more Project-like and readily share the lower level sub tasks (when you open the project - saves the view when you close)… without clicking to open every single time you open the asana project…
THANK YOU, lbp.
Can Asana print a project in WYSIWYG mode?
(I suspect not and am willing and hopeful to be wrong)
now… Asana2Go… might it print in WYSIWYG mode?
can you control what pages print… example… if a project should print over, say, 7 pages, top-to-bottom… and you only want to print pp2-3, can Asana2Go print only pp2-3? to printer and to PDF?
the $195 fee - per user or per company? or wait that is for something else?
is Asana2Go free? just download to install?
and does this only work in the browsers? Might Asana2Go work in the Asana app?
do you recommend using the Asana app or Asana-in-browser?
We’re a Microsoft shop, and I prefer that… so I rarely use Chrome.
Is Asana equally good-and-capable in Edge as it is in Chrome?

Do I just download Asana2Go to Edge and forget using the app?
Re Plan vs. Actuals chart: You already created a topic for that request; the guidelines are not to cross-post. If you’ve not asked this question there, then add it there.
Re Asana2Go questions: I don’t use the Asana Forum for Asana2Go support. I think all your questions are answered at Asana2Go. I provide limited support (it’s a free app) there if you still have a question after reading the info and looking at videos and articles there.
Re everything else: Please check help.asana.com for some answers about functionality. I already mentioned contacting Support for problems. For anything remaining, please create a separate topic because it’s Forum policy to have one topic per thread.
