I see that the Dashboard can show the trend of upcoming items to complete OR the items recently closed.
I am looking for a combined graph…
one line shows the planned work to complete each week, for the duration
one line shows the actual work completed each week, to be populated weekly
the lines may or may not match
i made the attached spreadsheet in < 10 minutes, including formatting, and spellcheck, in Microsoft Excel, in 10 minutes.
I’m curious how to re-create this in Asana, ideally in as close to 10 minutes as is possible.
Thank you for your question about creating a Plan vs. Actuals graph in Asana. Currently, Asana’s native reporting capabilities don’t support creating combined graphs with both planned and actual work completion lines as shown in your Excel example.
While Asana does offer burndown charts for tracking progress, they don’t provide the exact comparison view you’re looking for. For this specific visualisation, you might need to continue using Excel or another reporting tool that can pull data from Asana via the API or through CSV exports.
On thing I can do on my end is to forward this to the Development team since I see the need for such a functionality.
Thank you for the confirmation. Please do submit this to the Asana Dev team (unlikely to be the first time they’ve seen this request; hopefully this ask bumps up the priority).
