In the team page, allow to set project project view to List by default (it currently defaults to tiles)

Hi,

I believe you can head over to In the team page, allow to set project project view to List by default (it currently defaults to tiles) and upvote there

Thanks for your feedback, @anon30411753! This option is currently not available but hopefully we can implement it in the future. I just merged this thread with the main request!

Hi Asana Team

We need this function to better manage projects. Listing you can order the projects by most important.

Please can you at lest make Asana remember your choice. ( Change from tiles to list projects )

Any update on when this could be available?..It honestly seems like a pretty easy fix and it’s super super important to so many of us

Plus one to allowing list view by default at the team level.

+1 for list view by default at the team level (or at least the option to choose), the tiles are so bulky :grimacing:

Come on guys, you are literally a project management facilitator :joy: how has this discussion been going on for years? It can’t be more than a couple lines of code. Make a task, drop it in your next scrum and roll it out. List view is so much better as default.

Just moved to Asana, still in trial mode, but there’s some really frustrating features… This is one of them. Grid layout si aweful and not able to switch the default to list is just weird. And people seem to have been asking for this simple feature for years, still no action? Agree with Luke_Inkson, make a task and get it done.

Adding my upvote - list view as default would be greatly preferred!

When I toggle between the List and Tile template views, the selection always defaults back to Tile when the screen is refreshed

I believe this is not a bug, but rather a missing feature. I’ll let @Rebecca_McGrath expand on this.

Hi @anon378679, thanks for reaching out!

While this feature isn’t available at this time, hopefully it’s something our Product team can implement in the future

We do have an existing thread for this feature request in the #productfeedback category so I’ve gone ahead and merged your post with the existing one to consolidate feedback.

I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I have any updates

Thanks, Rebecca! I obviously didn’t search hard enough for the similar thread

Table stakes stuff here.

10 year Asana user here, would definitely love to have this feature.

Yeah, so one other user here, just reminding you that the team view is utterly useless when defaulting to tiles, and I’m really just forced to work around that silly design decision. Please fix this asap, it really can’t be that hard.

When met with the challenge of organising a high number of projects within a team, I decided to group all these projects as tasks within one single project so make it easier to quickly access them, and that worked great, but not everyone liked having to work within a task so i decided to eat a bullet and do it properly how it was intended and have a dedicated project for each, ONLY to be met with this stupid problem where i need to spend 5 minutes expanding the team view list by clicking “show more” 10 times in order to see a newly added project. Being forced to view in tile mode is bad enough but this is taking the cake. The only work-around is to favourite all of them so i have a permanent list, but that also means now i can’t use favourites as i should.
So much for trying to use a tool as intended…guess not many people have many projects within a team.

please implement this feature.

I would LOVE to have my teams projects view sortable and have a “save as default”

that you have to drag and drop to rearrange the projects, and every time you navigate away you come back to a wall of bathroom tiles can be amazingly frustrating, particularly when you are checking various statuses and project switching.

I’m planning to create a separate teams just to organize smaller groups of projects within them so we don’t have to keep clicking “show more” and dragging and dropping to rearrange the list.
