Asana rules only triggering by date sometimes

I’m experiencing what seems like an error, and I am wondering if anyone else has run into something similar.

I have custom rules on a productivity board that seem to be running selectively, but I cannot figure out a pattern. The rule takes a task that is due or overdue from one queue and moves it into a separate queue. This rule has worked fine on multiple queues in this board for months. Here is an example of the rule:

Last week, the rule stopped working. I noticed the tasks were not being moved, so I checked with our administrator to see if we were hitting our Asana rule limit. Our administrator informed me that “Usually I get a notification when we’ve hit our limit, but I haven’t seen anything. We are on the highest, non-custom plan… so I highly doubt we’d be hitting the limit,” and, “we JUST renewed this past Saturday, making it even less likely that we’ve hit our limit.”

The rule runs on both tasks and sub tasks. No one has edited the task for a long time until I paused and then restarted it to see if that would fix the problem. The rule subsequently ran 14 more times over a four day period. Now, it has not run for two days on tasks that were due. I am having to manually move tasks from one queue to another.

Does anyone see something obvious that I am missing or have a suggestion that I can try? Thank you for your help!

@Jordan_Hawkins,

I think there was an issue around a week ago but it seemed to be resolved.

Since you’ve used this rule for a while, you’re likely aware that the three “When” triggers will be evaluated just after midnight only once daily and must match exactly to the day.

If you believe it failed to move tasks that should have moved, Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team.

Thanks,

Larry
