Most software programs have options to set your preferred date format, shouldn’t be difficult for Asana to do the same. Just let people set what they want, D DD DDD, M MM MMM, week, etc. in whatever order they want.
Any updates? This is really killing Asana for being a project management system to track deliverables when you literally cannot see the exact deadlines. Terrible product.
please! this should be a priority.
Welcome, @Linda_Sandor. Don’t forget to click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button; that’s the quickest and most effective way to express your support for a request.
Any updates on this? This continues to be a frustration for our team. Voted.
Commenting a third time. Voted already. Please just change the due date on the tasks to display the way the OP showed it. The way Asana displays it just doesn’t make sense, there is plenty of room on the task layout to display the full three-character format at all times.
Hello, new person adding my voice to this thread. I see it’s been an ongoing request for many years. Is there really no way to adjust this in my settings so due dates always show a full date and not just a day of the week? See screenshot of my tasks. The due dates are all full dates except for this one random one showing as “Wednesday” instead of the actual date. This breaks the flow of my brain because I now have to look at a separate calendar to see what date Wednesday is. It’s just messy all around. Please tell me there’s a fix by now? Since this thread is over 5 years old?
@Heidi_Love, I’m afraid the best you can do is click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the Vote button; that’s the quickest and most effective way to express your support for a request.
Thanks,

+1 to this.
It’d be much much better to display the Date with a tooltip on weekday. Seems like a reasonable ask ![]()
Even better would be to allow us to display dates in the format we want. In pharma, we often use yyyy.mm.dd to display dates (e.g. 2025.10.25). Would be ideal to let us decide how to display dates in our boards ![]()
Hello, Was this issue resolved? I am using Asana and I don’t see an option for seeing the date as in the form of a date
Marked as “Considered”! The amazing @Olha_Vintonik on my team is actively looking at this.
Amazing! Fingers crossed. Really looking forward to the possibility of this happening, which I think will reduce friction. Thanks, @Garrett_Knoll and @Olha_Vintonik!
