Add Completed On Date fields...

Continuing the discussion from Need Completed Date in List View and Reportable:

Hello, why can I not add these fields to my project any more in 2023? Specifically, Created on and Completed on fields

Hi @Gwen_Brewer,

You can still do it; it’s been moved out of the Customize button and onto a new place in the UI:

Note that the button may say “Hide” or it may say “Show fields”; Asana is currently running an A/B test to decide which of those captions they’re going to use long-term.

Aha!! Found it and it works! Thanks so much. FYI my button was the Hide button, which I ignored because I didnt think the field toggles would be in there

The name of the button is apparently being A/B tested, and we kinda all agreed “Hide” was a terrible name (to quote @Phil_Seeman  )

“Hide” makes no sense. “Show Fields” is more intuitive

When the change was first rolled out into my instance, I looked for a good 3 mins to find it. I thought I was going crazy. Yes, poor choice of words.

Can we add this to the portfolio level as well so that we can track the completion date from a reporting standpoint? The data exists within the Status field, but it’s not reportable in Asana

Was there a solution for this? I need it to.

Welcome, @Roberto_Villasenor,

Yes, this is available and shown as the solution to this topic:

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry, what I’m looking is to add the Completed-On field from the project to a portfolio view.

@Roberto_Villasenor,

There’s a Due date for projects which can be shown or hidden in portfolios via the Customize button in list view for portfolios.

I’m not aware of a Completed on field for projects in the UI. You could add a portfolio-level custom field for that though.

Am I misunderstanding?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi. Why there is no Completed on and Modified on buttons in Template view? That means that Templates are unuseful, as I should toggle up those buttons in each and every single Project. Thanks for considering this.

Marin

@ML32, You can vote (with the purple Vote button at the top of the topic) here:

Ideally, add another Product Feedback request for the other field and vote for it too.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi @Gwen_Brewer! It looks like the option to add the ‘Created on’ and ‘Completed on’ fields is still available, but the process has changed a bit. As mentioned, it’s now located in a different spot in the UI. Look for the button that might say ‘Show fields’ or ‘Hide’ – this is part of an A/B test Asana is running to determine which label they’ll use long-term.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further assistance.
