Completed-On Field in a Portfolio for Projects

Hi Everyone,

While using the reporting feature, I noticed that I cannot create a chart for completed projects based on a month to month basis. This is because there isn’t a field for completed on for projects. This feature is only for tasks. Since my team creates mostly small projects, we would like to know how many projects have been completed based on a date. The photo listed below is the chart that can be made for tasks only. This is what I would like to see for projects. I could see a completed on field replacing the date that appears in the status field when the status is marked complete.

I have read this topic, and I do understand that a custom field can be made for this. However, this would be a lot of extra work for my coworkers, especially while trying to learn Asana. The completion date is already in the status field, so this could be a very simple fix along with an update to the reporting feature to allow for a chart like this for projects. This could really help my team out, and I certainly don’t think I am the only one who is looking for this feature.

Building off this… I agree it would be a very simple reporting gap to fill to be able to report on projects from an audit trail standpoint - similar to how tasks are tracked, but for projects at the portfolio level.

I’d love to see the ability to customize the native Status field as well. The ability to rename the fields like On track, Off track, At risk, etc. would dramatically increase the functionality of the field. Then, major status updates to a project to a customized choice can be left with a comment as well (when projects were set to “On hold” or “At risk”). Combining this with the reporting request you have here would be huge.
