Hello, my company stresses the importance of making content in our systems accessible based on WCAG standards. In particular, we are encouraged to use Descriptive Link Text: When sharing links, use descriptive text so people know the destination or purpose (“View the quarterly report” rather than “Click here”). This is especially important for users of screen readers.
I ran into a limitation of Asana’s Slack integration that doesn’t allow us to easily accommodate this requirement. It was suggested I add a note here requesting that we are allowed to embed URLs in descriptive text when used in Slack actions for Asana Rules. (More details in my post below).
Hey @Chris_Bulin, I really like this suggestion — being able to embed URLs behind descriptive link text in Slack actions from Asana Rules would make a big difference for accessibility and clarity. Right now, the integration just drops the raw link, which isn’t ideal for WCAG compliance or for users relying on screen readers.
Even aside from accessibility, descriptive link text makes messages more scannable and actionable in busy Slack channels. If Asana could support simple markdown or rich-text formatting in Slack rule actions, it would help meet accessibility standards and improve usability for everyone.
Definitely worth considering as a small change with a big impact.
