Zoom in and out using desktop app

Zooming is one of the few things the browser can do that the desktop app can’t, and I’d love if it could.

The only way I know to adjust it in Windows is with the display settings scale, and changing that every time you want to zoom in/out is a hassle.

These are the default scrolling shortcuts of the main browsers.

  • [ctrl]+[scrollwheel up] = zooming in
  • [ctrl]+[scrollwheel down] = zooming out
  • [ctrl]+[+] = zooming in
  • [ctrl]+[-] = zooming out

If you’re used to doing it in the browser, it’s a habit. And it’s a slightly disappointing realisation when you try it in the app.

Im fairly new to this software, just trying it out. But ive notice that its very difficult to resize things - meaning being able to zoom in or zoom out in the desktop app. As a matter of fact its impossible on the desktop.

You would think this would be a basic function for the software given different people have varying levels of eyesight and at time we wish to shrink the view to see more.

Im debating whether to go with Asana but if the desktop app doesnt provide this, then i may decide to go with a competitor. I dont want to use the browser option because the tab gets lost in the sea of tabs I usually have open.

Hi @1215008537694394, welcome to the forum!

While it’s not completely intuitive, you can zoom in and out on the desktop app on a PC by pressing Ctrl + or Ctrl -.

Best,

Jeremy

Hi @1215008537694394 , I’ve merged your post into this existing thread. Make sure to hit the vote button at the top!

I don’t think this was possible when I posted my feedback thread.

That would make it likely that supporting zooming with the scroll-wheel is relatively easy to implement.

I’d add that an indicator displaying the zoom percentage would be a nice bonus.

PS: Added consistency tag as I think it’d improve consistency between browser and desktop app experience.
