Hi everyone! We are working on putting together a workflow for job description approvals and have a couple questions:
Is there a way to pull information from a form into the workflow automation? For example, if someone was chosen from a picklist as the hiring manager on our intake form, they would be automatically added as a collaborator on that task?
Is there a way to automate a notification to someone that the task has moved to a different stage? If not, what about if an approval was completed?
When creating an approval, is there a way to CC someone on that approval email that goes out?
This does not exist yet in Asana, but Flowsana from @Phil_Seeman has this feature.
Using Asana rules, you can mention someone in the comment when a field changes from one value to another (but not from any value to any value). In addition, the custom field of type dropdown can have notifications enabled for all task followers (go and edit the field to see the checkbox).
What email are you referring to exactly? The decision to approve or reject? Task collaborators are there for this purpose
Thanks, @Bastien_Siebman. Yes, our Flowsana integration’s Forms Support workflow has an option for “Add form submitter as a Collaborator”.
In addition to Bastien’s input here, note that Flowsana has a rule action to send a fully customized email to a task’s assignee, or a number of other people, based on some trigger condition.
