Before, when we add users in the People field, they automatically get added as collaborator. Now that it’s no longer happening, will the people added in People fields now have access to the task automatically?

I don’t recall it was ever automatic that those added to a people field became collaborators.
Currently, in the task detail pane, you’re prompted to add as collaborators new additions to a people field not already collaborators:
But otherwise, no, adding people to a people field does not bestow any access to the task on its own.

I’ve not been getting that prompt anymore since the last three days 
I note that it was released after the A/B test to all.
Are you trying in the task detail pane? It only works there, not from the cell in List view.
If still a problem for you, try these troubleshooting steps, then please 1) Report your problem by going to Report a Bug, clicking the New Topic button at the right, and following the instructions, or 2) To create a support ticket, go to Asana Support - Help Center • Asana (make sure you are logged in to Asana) > click the chat icon at the bottom right > type “speak to an agent” > click “Yes” > click “Something Else” > click “Create a support ticket.”
