I git a kind of issue. I was the one who set up the integration between Asana and Jira.
I was also the one who set up the project in Asana.
Now - I am the one who is being reflected as the one who is writing comments in Asana.
Just so that you understand be well:
Asana and Jira are synchronized on comments level. It works fine.
But. Whenever anyone is adding a comment in Asana - it appears in Asana but under my name. My name appears like everywhere, regardless who raised the comment.
I guess this is because the topics I described above - that I was the one who creared the connection inicially but anyway - is there any way to hide my name in Jira?
I include the screenshot. Holefully you will know what I mean and appreciate my creativity
Correct. That’s just the way Asana’s programming interface works at the moment; all events are recorded to the account that’s connected to the external integration.
The only workaround is to create a separate Asana account and connect that account; then all events will be recorded to that account. It takes up an extra user slot in Asana, of course. (If you have an Asana Enterprise or Enterprise+ subscription, you could use a service account for this.)
This is great advice. I use service accounts for all my automations/integrations and it makes things much easier. It’s especially helpful to give it a name that’s easily recognizable as a service account: something like “Asana Bot” etc…
