Today we are glad to announce that our team has rolled out a new Asana for Jira Server Integration!
Asana for Jira Server integration brings the value of the Jira Cloud integration to Jira Server users.
It allows you to create a Jira Issue from an Asana task, ensures continued sync of updates from Jira to Asana as the issue is worked on and allows you to link existing Jira issues with Asana tasks.
This ensures project or product management teams work closely with teams in Jira without having to switch tools. Please find more information as well as the steps to install this integration in the following articles:

I am not sure if this is a new feature. I have been using this since more than 1 month already. The challenge I have with this is:
It does not sync Comments - If Developers are using Jira and we are transferring a task from Asana to Jira, we want that all the historic communication in ‘Comments’ section is transferred over to Jira as well. But this doesn’t happen. Which mean, all the historic conversation is not visible to the developer.
It does not synch Sub-tasks - Sub-tasks if created in Asana should be transferred over to Jira as well, along with Due dates. It would be just perfect to have this option.
Let me know if there is a way this can be incorporated into Asana ↔ Jira integration.
Hi @anon41024217, this integration is very similar to the existing Jira Cloud integration, but with a different install path.
To check if you are using Jira Server, please go to the URL that you use to log in to your Jira account. If your URL has this structure: “.atlassian.net” then you are using Jira Cloud, and you are not eligible to use the Server integration. You will need to use the Cloud version.
In regards to your first question, we currently push task name, description and attachments from Asana into Jira. I’ll make sure to share this feedback to our product team and also your comment about subtasks.
If you have a moment, can you create new threads in our #productfeedback category for these features? This will help other customers to vote and support these requests as well.
