View historical user activity

We’re considering switching to JIRA too, how has your experience been so far?

It’s very frustrating to know that Asana team won’t implement a very useful solution requested by its users.

Still waiting on this :mantelpiece_clock:

I am so missing this feature. This would help my personal productivity. I would see what I did last day.

I found some work arround.
I set up 3 advanced filters:

  1. assigned to me / completion any / modified withing last 1 day
  2. assigned not me / completion any / modified withing last 1 day / created by me
  3. assigned not me / completion any / modified withing last 1 day / created not me / assigned by me

I would be nice to have it on one page.

I got problems on users shared project without permission. It is really disaster because I cant tracked which user did that.

I would like to ask where the Asana team is on providing an easy way to see general activity (comments, assigned to-dos, etc) across all projects for a specific user.

This is a “must” for Asana for time tracking and to backtrack what was actually done/said on projects on a daily basis. (similar to the activity feed in basecamp for yourself or other users)

Is there any workaround to see a log of what was said throughout projects? This is literally the most frustrating project management system I’ve ever used.

When are you going to add this? It’s been asked requested for the past 5 years.

People need a way to track their history (comments, task creation, and all).

This is the most difficult tool I have ever used when trying to recap projects I’ve worked on.

We want to see our comments comments comments! Add our own comments to the INBOX please! Allow to filter by only our activity as well.

After searching countlessly for some way of being able to view all activity for yourself (so that you can see what you worked on, commented on, etc for your own reports and timesheet entry) I’ve determined that this just isn’t available in Asana. (at least like how basecamp has their activity feed).

The only way I’ve been able to do this to see “what” I worked on, on a given day is by doing an advanced search…
Search > Advanced Search > Add Filter > People > Commented on by > Your Name

However, this just shows the tasks you commented on, not the actual comments, and the filters/sorting don’t even have a column to see the date/time last modified. You have to click on each individual task, scroll through the comments one by one to see what was done.

The closest thing that offers what basecamp’s activity feed is, is the following…
Inbox > Activity > Expand (so you can see all comments in the feed), but it’s cluttered by everybody elses comments.

But it’s missing one key thing… your OWN comments. It shows everybody else’s activity, except your own.

Can you please improve the Activity feed to have the ability to see your “own” activity, whether that be on inbox or on your profile page? It is literally impossible to find out what was said/done unless you actually complete a task. There should 100% be a way to see overall “your own” activity on projects

Sharing this old post from 2017…

5 years later and Asana can’t add a simple activity (comments, actions) feed for a per user basis?

Hi @Colin_PB, thank you for your post and for so clearly explaining the challenges you’re facing. I merged your feedback with https://forum.asana.com/t/view-historical-user-activity to centralize the feedback. You may want to vote for this feature request above. I agree that this would be a useful feature. :+1:

@Colin_PB,

FYI Asana doesn’t publish a product roadmap or comment on potential features, so there won’t be any updates here from them on this request.

Throwing my hat in the rink - being able to see ALL activities on a project or task in some sort of feed is absolutely necessary!

It would also really benefit from such a feature!

Upvoting this feature request. Absolutely necessary!

I would benefit from this feature!

This feature would be amazing. I’m shocked it still needs to be implemented, given all the reporting functions in Asana. This seems like a colossal miss.

Sometimes I make a lot of edits, remember I wrote something down somewhere, but can’t find where I wrote it. I feel like it could be helpful if there was a tab I could go see my recent history of changes made in the past day, week, or month…
