Triggers that create subtask templates

Hello!

I’m working on creating a workflow across 4 different teams. I’m trying to figure out the best way to have subtasks triggered for various people across the teams.

My original thought was to have a new subtask created on the original task once the subtask before it is marked complete…but I don’t see a way to make that happen.

The other idea that I had was that I could create a field with different status changes, and triggers from that to create new subtasks. But I’m struggling to figure out how to do this. I’m still pretty new to Asana. I’d appreciate your help! Thanks!

I think you’re on the right track with the field suggestion.

Maybe create a single-select custom field called “Do” and use each option value entry as your rule trigger.

If using the new rules editor that’s rolling out:

• When: Do is changed
• Check if: Do is set to Option Value 1
• Do this: Create subtasks
