Hi @Brit_Foshee, thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback!
It’s not possible to automatically create subtasks in Asana at this time. We do have an existing request for this feature in the forum already so I’ve gone ahead and merged your post with the existing one to consolidate feedback - I hope you don’t mind!
I’ll look into it, thanks! I always prefer native Rules in Asana, because they are (a) more visible to the whole team and (b) more efficient, in that you don’t have to train people to use two different platforms.
Hi @anon84034686, thanks for reaching out! We’re still rolling this feature out and expect it to be available to all eligible users by Nov 24. If you don’t have this feature yet, you will soon!
I think this was actually the feature request at the beginning of this post (at least it was what i upvoted for), so I’m pretty disappointed with this update
Hi @Rebecca_McGrath - I think the rollout of Asana Rule actions to create subtasks is not what this feature request was for. This feature request was a request to allow rules to apply to subtasks (currently rules only work on parent tasks).
So, even though it’s exciting that we can now create subtasks using rules, rules still can’t be triggered by subtasks. So, I’m still hoping for this feature to be considered and developed by Asana.
Does that make sense? Hopefully I’m explaining myself (but maybe not).
Hey, @Rebecca_McGrath! We’re excited over here for this update, but we wanted to clarify: when you say “to all eligible users”, is this feature going to be available anywhere below Enterprise level? Thanks!
That indeed is a nice new feature in order to automatize certain steps, especially when certain custom fields might trigger new needs to be carried out.
I’m still on the wait for the original feature suggested here tough!! We’re in the right path!
