I’m not sure the pain and importance of this is being recognised. Here are some threads that could perhaps be merged here (I’m sure there are more, these just came up immediately):
When subtasks are assigned to a person and they show up in the ‘My tasks’ view, there is no project ‘tag’ visible on that subtask. There is a reference to the parent task, but therefore I have to look up the parent task first and check to which project that task belongs.
It would be more efficiently to directly show the project tag on each subtask.
Can you please make it possible that subtasks of a tasks in a project are also part of that project and thus get the same color as the main task? This would make things visually much clearer in the calendar.
Thanks.
Hi @Erin_Hommeland — Thanks for the feedback.
As an immediate solution, I’d recommend that you create an Advanced Search view that focuses upon both tasks & subtasks. You can then view this in a calendar view to see all levels of tasks in one spot.
You can then favorite the search view (via the star) to pin it to your left pane and have it update automatically.

Hi!
I love the My Tasks view, but find it odd that in the filter-by-project view, subtasks to any tasks in a project show under “No Project”. They should show under their project they are a part of.
There should also be an option to filter by:
Projects
Subtasks only
I am the project manager/producer for a small creative agency that has recently fully embraced Asana. We’re quickly adjusting our workflows without any hiccups…until now.
Our work tends to have many deliverables that multiple members of the team collaborate on. For the most efficient workflow, we’ve found that Tasks with well built out subtasks works the best for file sharing/version control, conversations, and the ability to spread out deadlines and assignees within a single task.
However, wh…
Hi,
In the My Tasks view, it would be great to display the Project “bubble” (looks like a tag bubble) for subtasks, the same way it is displayed for tasks.
More generally, we would be happy to pay to have the option to customize our user experience with such features. What do you think ?
Thanks for reading,
Rupert
I start my day by reviewing my daily task list, normally organized by due date and/or priority. A vital part of the “my tasks” view is seeing which project/client is associated with each task. However, the associated project does not appear next to subtasks. Why is that, Asana?
Throughout the day as I create tasks and assign them to myself, I also go back through those tasks to add due dates, project names and details when I see them appear in my task list. Now every day, I keep thinking that I…
I’m using Asana in concert with Instagantt. This new problem just started showing up.
I noticed that many Project X subtasks were showing up in the No Project section of My Tasks in Asana. I dragged and dropped them back into Project X, where they were originally, but when I do, they are bumped out of their parent task in Instagantt. When I use Instagantt to place the subtasks back inside their parent, they get bumped back in to No Project in Asana.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
