Subtask Card created when marked complete

Starting this morning, when a subtask is marked as complete it turns into its own card.

I do have a rule in which any task marked as complete is moved to the “Complete” section, however before today it did not effect subtasks. It is almost as if Asana is turning these subtasks into task in order to have something to move. How do I stop this from happening, outside of removing the rule?

The rule specifies to only move tasks marked complete and none of these subtasks started as their own card.

@Hannah_Banks - welcome to the forum! In your rule, check if you have it set to run on tasks and subtasks or just tasks. You want the latter:

Subtasks can be added directly to their parent task’s project, which is what’s happening here. They are still subordinate to their parent, and if you don’t like having them there, you can remove them from the project:

I didn’t think to look there! Previously, I did have that set to just run on tasks, but that has since changed. Thank you!
