Step into 2025 as an AI Studio expert: Discover the path to mastery

When it comes to Asana’s AI Studio (and perhaps AI in general), are you:

  • Brand new and little scared

This post is for you no matter where you are in your AI Studio journey.

What is Asana AI Studio?

An easy-to-use (as you’ll soon see) no-code builder in which you create and deploy automated workflows by simply describing in words how they should behave. What can these automated workflows do? Many of the things that you might ask any helper to do to streamline or enhance your work processes.

AI Studio is available for Asana Enterprise, Enterprise+, or annual Advanced Asana plans. See AI Studio add-on and pricing for more info.

Turn it on

If you haven’t already done so, ask your Asana Super Admin to enable Asana AI features. (If you don’t have an Asana Super Admin, your Asana Admin or Billing Owner will need to create one.)

Now have your Asana Admin, Super Admin, or Billing Owner enable AI Studio and grant members access.

(Asana’s AI partners do not train or improve their AI models using your data.)

Try it out

Follow the advice of AI expert Ethan Mollick (One Useful Thing Substack and author of the book Co-Intelligence) who recommends getting hands-on to really understand AI.

I created this step-by-step, straightforward tutorial for a real-world AI Studio workflow to provide a great place for you to start:

After you’ve worked through the above, I bet your mind will be racing with ideas to try; go for it! Just follow a similar approach as in the tutorial but with a different set of instructions to carry out your next idea.

Dig a little deeper

I highly recommend the article Stop the Busywork: A no-code guide to building specialized AI assistants for any use case as your next step to dive deeper. The author, Asana’s own @Ethan_DeWaal, who helped create AI Studio, provides a thorough, easy-to-follow, repeatable approach, including a short AI Studio video. His Information Processed Substack is certainly worth a follow, along with the other Ethan’s (Mollick) one mentioned above.

But to build AI expertise, you have to use it. Here are a few more key AI Studio resources that you can help you further your efforts:

Once you’ve worked through those posts, you may want to continue your journey in the Asana Academy, perhaps collecting an AI skill badge along the way:

AI Studio is a unique and key part of Asana AI, but only one of many AI features found throughout Asana. Learn more about Asana’s full AI functionality.
