Four key elements for building an AI Teammate in AI Studio

After co-building and then experimenting on my own with creating AI Teammate as part of AI Workflows in AI Studio, I found that including the following four elements in the prompt leads to a successful AI Workflow implementation.

  1. Give the teammate a persona. Tell it what team it is on and its role on the team (Ex: You are a traffic manager on the creative team.)
  2. Tell the teammate in one sentence the job you would like it to do. (Ex: Your job is to name each. task created in this project based on the information from the intake form that originated the task.)
  3. Provide detailed guidance on how to do the job. Give it a rubric and a detailed set of instructions on how you want the job to be executed. The more detail you can provide, the better, but be careful about getting too specific. Ideally provide it with a few examples of other like jobs done well.
  4. Explain what the output should look like. Again, examples will help here or a basic description may suffice.

Within each of these steps you may need to experiment and tweak the prompt to get exactly what you need, but by including all of the above, you should get pretty close the first time around.
