Hello! My creative agency just upgraded to Asana Premium and I’m hoping you can help me with something we’re trying to solve.
We are using Asana to track our projects, which includes both internal-facing tasks (ie. Review R1 plan with agency Leadership) + external-facing tasks (ie. Share R1 plan with client).
When sharing our workback schedules with clients, we only include external-facing tasks (to hide how the sausage is made) and do not like to show them who on our team is handling a specific task.
Is there any way to do this in Asana?
For example, the “read-only” link feature would be perfect if we could customize what we could display (ie. hiding assignee, adding a field, hiding certain tasks, etc.). We’ve also exported our Asana link to .csv, then cleaned up in Excel, but that’s duplicative and doesn’t get the beautiful features out of Asana.
multihoming tasks in a separate project that you share with the client might be an option. Have you considered that already?
Now to ensure that works well be careful regarding subtasks. For example if you have one task with many subtasks but your client should not see all, then it might be better splitting up things into tasks in general. Bastien has shared a great post about this today: 💡 Subtasks: when to use them, when not to use them
Hey @anon50128360,
sure so by multihoming I mean a task added to more projects at the same time.
Then whenever you update the task it will automatically reflect across all projects the task is added to.
