Setting a Filter to Forward to Asana from Gmail - Can Not Receive Confirmation Code from forwarding-noreply@google.com

In the past I could set up filters in my gmail to automatically forward emails that hit certain parameters to an asana project to generate tasks.

When setting this up prior, gmail would send an initial confirmation email with a link to confirm adding the forwarding address. This arrived with the sender being the email address that I was using for the forwarding.

It seems now google has changed it so that these initial confirmation emails arrive from forwarding-noreply@google.com. Since I cannot add forwarding-noreply@google.com as a user in our group or on the project this is resulting in the forwarding email being blocked:

We use forwarding filters extensively. This is a major issue if we can not longer set these up. Is there some type of solution for this?

+1, same issue for us

Just came across the same issue. I’ve done this in the past and now it won’t work because I can’t verify the email. Very frustrating .

The support told us it was a spoofing config issue on our domain… I have string doubts, cc @Arthur_BEGOU

Indeed, this what the support told me:

[Update from the Support - Fix incoming] :sun_with_face:

We’ve received an update from our Engineering team confirming that this issue was caused by a bug introduced on April 22.
A fix is currently being implemented and is expected to be deployed by the end of this week (around May 16). We will follow up with a notification as soon as the fix has been confirmed and deployed. Unfortunately, there is no known workaround for setting up new forwarding rules at this time. However, existing rules should remain fully functional.
