I was wondering if there’s a way to allow setting a start date before selecting a due date. Right now, the calendar requires users to pick the due date first, and only then users can choose the start date.
This setup often leads to (early) users skipping the start date entirely, since they don’t realize it needs to be added afterward. It might be more intuitive if the start date could be selected first, or if both dates could be chosen in a single view, at least in our project.
Doe anyone know if there is a workaround for this, or could this be considered as a future improvement
The best way to help Asana prioritise is adding your vote and voice. It is especially helpful if you explain the why behind you wanting it, the value and impact that you think it has.
If you’d like your specific solution over the ones I linked I could also move this topic to English Forum > Product Feedback to open it up for voting. But if you feel those other topics would solve the why for you my guess is that it would be better not to spread the votes and discussions too thin.
As @Jan-Rienk suggested, I have moved it to the product feedback space, where your post can be upvoted by other users at the top of the page! You have my vote already!
I can only confirm there is no readily available solution I can provide, so all I can suggest is creating internal processes and best practices for everyone to follow the same guidelines to create uniformity and alignment.
Perhaps agree on a temporary due date convention, just to enable adding start dates to your task. I would also suggest marking the tasks which require due dates to be corrected with dedicated custom fields!
Thank you @Jan-Rienk and @Joanna_Czarnobilska for your replies. For now, I’ll try to find a temporary solution internally. Let’s hope this topic gets some support from other users as well!
