Rules in My Tasks not moving tasks based on their due date

Hi Emily, related to this.

I want to confirm that any tasks that I put in “Later” will follow Asana pre-set rules of going to “Upcoming” and “Today” based on their due date. It is not working for me (Sorry was a fan of ASANA before but I am only restarting again after 6-month hiatus)

What I did:

  1. Created a bunch of tasks, some with due date, some without.
  2. Manually moved all the tasks from recently assigned to “Later”

However, after a few hours, the relevant tasks did not automatically moved to Today and Upcoming. They are all still in later.

  1. Is this the intended behaviour?
  2. If not, do you know where did I go wrong?
  3. Is there a waiting time or something before a task is automatically reorganised to their relevant sections based on Due Date?

Thanks

Hi @Ezlan_Mohsen, welcome to the Asana Community Forum and sorry for the late reply! I’ve moved your question to a separate thread so we can investigate this further.

From your description, I see this is working as expected. If you moved tasks to Later and you have a Rule to move to tasks to upcoming or today when the due date is approaching. The rule will be actioned midnight and not when you move the task to Later.
