My use case:
I want a rule that will flag form submissions if the due date is within the next two weeks (i.e., less than or equal to 14 days after today). I would like to trigger on “Task is added to this project” and condition on this due date operation.
There are numerous other feedback requests about similar asks (more flexibility in the due date approaching trigger, for example), but I don’t think any of them address my need. In the meantime, does anyone have any workarounds for this that do not utilize 3rd party tools (I also need it to trigger relatively immediately, so the due date approaching trigger won’t work for me)?
I have a user who is wondering if there’s a way to have rules run on tasks when they are assigned that would sort them into the appropriate section based on due date.
She’d like to be able to avoid manually triaging the Recently Assigned section — so would I, tbh — by having a rules that do: When: Task is added to My Tasks Check if: Due date is within [ 3 days / 1 week / more than 1 week ] Do this: Move task to section: [ Do Today / Do This Week / Do Later ]
But on the Check If, the only options for checking due date are all based on fixed calendar dates (which honestly seems like it would almost never by useful).
Has anyone found a way to work around this? And is there a product feedback submission I can vote on to have dynamic date options in the Check If section of the rule builder?

I tried searching the forum but didn’t see this suggestion anywhere, so if it already exists I hope someone can point me at it!
I had a user ask why tasks weren’t being moved to Do Today based on her rule, & it was because she created the task 2 days before it was due. It would be nice to have the option for “Due date is approaching: 3 days or less.”
I know this could get weird if I have a rule to do move tasks based on different date ranges (e.g., I have one rule for 1 week out, to move tasks to Do This Week, and another for 3 days out for Do Today) so it would need the ability to also do “Due date is between 4 and 7 days away.”
(In the meantime, I’ve told her she can create additional rules for 2 days away and 1 day away.)
Also hoping for this functionality AND if we could add “due date approaching” as a condition in the rule builder, rather than only being a trigger. Being able to utilize my tasks effectively and efficiently makes for such a better UX.
Only I want to route a task back to a specific assignee for approval. Trying to avoid “urgent” creative requests coming through without actually being signed off.
