In truth, this didn’t come up for us until now, but it makes sense to have an automation where we can action a new task be created from a Template task (as opposed to a fresh blank task.) It would certainly be a nice to have.

Hi I wanted to know if there is any way I could create a rule to automatically add subtasks to task (from the Task Template of the same board), if a task is moved to a certain section of the board

I’ve been checking the Product Updates webpage & forum regularly, and I notice this still isn’t on the roadmap. Do you have any sense of how many votes it takes, or what other criteria is needed for Asana product team to take action on a request?
I joined last week’s call to preview the Summer Release. I’m disappointed to see SO much focus on AI, and starting to feel hopeless that Asana is responsive to our requests.
This particular one is huge, because the workaround is so much more time consuming (using rules to setup task ‘templates’), because there’s so much more clicking and awkward navigation involved to get the same results in workflow builder.
I’ve been hoping this would come through, because now I’m in limbo with a client who needs this feature, and I don’t have the hours to do it the long way.
Come on Asana! Pay attention!! We need you!!

Hello, it would be great if we could trigger task/subtask templates from a rule. Asana when will this launch as a feature? there seems to be a demand for this.

Hello - still desperately wishing this was a feature on the product roadmap. I currently have to manually update documentation and the setup in multiple places (Workflow Builder, Template, AND various Rules embedded in Bundles) to achieve this, and I’m still constantly finding places where we missed updating the “template” task. It is a huge headache and time sink to stay on top of, and results in inconsistencies in how we approach what should be standard activities.

Same here, being able to create tasks from a task template with a rule, or selecting the template directly on the form would be a big win!
Hello, have there been any updates here? I’m dealing with 150+ sections, each of which use the same task template, in multiple projects. This would be mega-helpful!!! Updates please!

It’s one of those days when you try something new and go ahead with your workflow because you know there is a way to do it in Asana, just to be hit in the face with a lack of functionality that you 100% thought would be there because it is so obvious
