I have a team member that’s left. I want to remove them from my organization so they do not count as one of my seats and no longer have access, but I want to ensure that when I do so I will not lose all of their interaction history. Their projects, tasks, ect. I want to be able to see that they worked on X, completed Y, ect. Is that possible?
Hi @Donnie_Mallicoat and welcome to the Forum!
If you’re already using the paid version, you can remove this user and a private project containing all their assigned tasks will automatically be automatically sent to your Admin. From there you can re-organize or archive these tasks. You can learn more about this use case here.
Hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any follow-up questions
Hello ~ I have a similar question. A team member has left, we want to give their seat to another account, but keep everything they noted/worked on in Asana. Please help!
Hello @Karien_van_der_Westh,
in this case I would deactivate/remove this team member from your organization via the admin console.. Then when doing so you also have the option to create a project with their previously assigned tasks.
I also recommend following these steps before removing the person.
Once this member has been removed one seat is free for the new team member.
Hi there,
Thanks for the steps provided. We are currently on a free plan - what is the best way to manage the team in that case? Currently when I open the admin console either in Members or Team, I am prompted to upgrade the account to gain access. How can I manage the team without needing to upgrade? We don’t currently need the other services so it would be great to be able to manage the team whether or not we are paying members.
Many thanks!
I want to remove a user from my organization so they do not count as one of my seats and no longer have access, but I want to ensure that when I do so he/she doesn’t lose their personal information/ projects. Can you help?
