And newer projects don’t get these default settings?
I think that would (should) mean people are selecting you to recieve these notifications anyway, after you’ve been added to the project.

Another thing you can try is not to add you as a person, but add a team with you in it as admin. As teams can be added to both projects, portfolios and project templates now. Which makes it easier to add someone to the team and get access to all of these projects as admin.
