Progress bar for tasks inside projects

Hello everyone,

I’m looking to have the same progress bar option as we have in the portfolio view, but for tasks inside projects. In our organisation, projects are big campaign that get splitted into tasks that cover many different teams. Ex: Big Campaign projet: -Website tasks -Video tasks -Brand design tasks.
And I would like to have the progress bar visual for each main tasks (Website, video, brand desisng etc.)
Is that possible ? Is there a work around this ?

Thanks for your help

Just to understand, are you saying you’d like progress for each section of tasks, for all the subtasks of a task, or something else?

I don’t know of a way to expose the exact same progress bar within a project, but perhaps you could leverage a project dashboard to simulate it (e.g., have a stacked bar chart, x-axis=section or similar, y-axis=task count, group by=completion status).

Hi @Jonathan_Ninnin – welcome to the forum!

If you’re looking for a progress bar for a parent task that has subtasks here is a great solution from @lpb Document Your Organization's Global Available Custom Fields [Best Practice] - #5 by lpb.

It is a manual process, but this is the best solution I’ve come across for a visual progress bar.

Hi @Jonathan_Ninnin, here is a more automated process (that requires some building, though):

Yep exactly. But as I understand, there are no real easy to implement solution yet. That’s a shame because it feels kinda obvious that it would be needed for taks with heavy number of sub-tasks (especially for big projects.)
