I made a copy of a project to create a new project template but now whenever I create a project from the new template asana automatically has all the tasks skip weekends.
If tasks from your new project template in Asana are automatically skipping weekends, it’s likely due to how the template’s timeline is set up. Here’s how to fix it:
Locate Your Project Template
Navigate to the “Templates” section in your Asana team or workspace.
Find and open the project template you created. If you’re unsure where to look, it’s usually listed with other projects under the “Templates” tab.
Open the Timeline View
Once in the template, switch to the Timeline view from the menu at the top of the screen.
In the timeline, you can see how tasks are scheduled, including their start and due dates.
Check Task Dependencies
Look for any tasks that are connected with arrows, indicating dependencies.
Dependencies might cause tasks to automatically skip weekends when Asana adjusts schedules.
Click on the dependent tasks and either remove or adjust the dependencies to stop them from skipping weekends.
Manually Adjust Start and Due Dates
Click on tasks that have start and due dates.
Manually change these dates to include weekends if needed. Simply drag tasks on the timeline to the desired dates, including weekends.
Test the Template
Save your changes to the template.
Create a new project from the template to test if tasks are now being scheduled correctly without skipping weekends.
If the issue persists, double-check the timeline or any project rules that might still be affecting scheduling.
