Hey thanks for the heads up !
Crazy how Asana Co isn’t paying attention or clarifying their position on this.
Hey thanks for the heads up !
Add me to the 3 year list of people begging. Reading through this thread reminds me of how Adobe “listens” to their customers. I suppose it works when you have a monopoly on the product, but it sure seems like there are improving alternatives nipping at your heals, Asana. I am a solopreneur by choice this time around. I do talk to myself quite often so could manage 2 seats, if needed.
Oh well just spent some time migrating to ClickUp and I’m 100% sold : very solid and promising platform !
Free account is great and first paid one is at 5$ for 1 person
I would also live a solo plan for the “Business” tier. I currently work as an independent consultant and have been using Asana for many years. I would love to be able to keep track all of my projects by different portfolios based on my clients or a portfolio of projects for the month I am in.
I think this is a great opportunity for Asana to not only get more users, but also a way to generate more revenue!
Asana, how many “solo” free trials do you have? How many do you think would convert to $10 per month? Easy money in today’s uncertain environment. Here’s my $10… oh, wait…
Signed up for free trial at ClickUp. I’d love to stay with Asana. But… I’m not paying $40+ per month for myself.
I just started my Free solo account and would like to upgrade to Premium to use the custom task templates feature. But Asana won’t allow me to only stay as 1 user. Therefore, I will not upgrade, I will look elsewhere for a more ethical business approach.
I mean that minimum number of seats is 1 so that you can buy a plan only for yourself without paying for additional seats that you don’t need.
i cannot understand, why make a 2 users license and not making a single user license? Why do I need to pay for 2 seats when there is only a single user?
Hi Marie. Being a solo user since 2017. Any premium solo account for me, please? Thank you in advance.
After years on the free plan, I’m ready to upgrade and have 6 people on my team. The problem is I am forced to pay for 10 people which seems pretty unfair so I am now resisting the upgrade. Why can’t I just pay for the number of spots I need?
Welcome to the Forum @Karen_Dauncey and thank you for sharing your feedback with us!
Currently our pricing plans works in bundles; we’ve opted for this structure to allow teams using Asana to grow while not constantly run into their plans limit. With that said, we often re-evaluate our pricing plan and may be able to accommodate more teams structure in the future, so I would recommend to keep an eye out.
Thank you again for your feedback. Have a great Friday!
Yes, I’m with ya. I only need 1 seat, but would be forced to pay for a 2nd in order to get the features that come with the upgrade. I’m a one-woman show, and don’t even have a VA, and as a solopreneur I cannot afford to pay for an extra seat I literally CANNOT use. I’d be happy to pay for an upgrade IF it allowed me to choose the exact number of seats I needed, and not be forced into groups which pays for seats I won’t use.
Might have to stay with ClickUp after all.
Asana please allow us to pay for a single user on Premium. I work alone and have no plans for adding a team member anytime soon. I’d love to pay for the premium features for myself but paying for a seat that doesn’t get used makes no sense.
I migrated to ClickUp 2.0 and it has WAY more features than Asana and allows single seat licenses for premium and it’s way cheaper. The ONLY thing keeping me from it is the UI. Sooo many clicks to constantly open things up that are default to stay compressed every time you navigate away from and back to them. You can’t keep them open. And the Gantt view is horrible to use. The views are terrible and inflexible. Hoping they fix some of the UI issues because when they do I am leaving Asana, which is sad because I have been a heavy user since they started. I even consulted with fortune 100 companies teaching how to work differently in tools like this. Super sad they don’t care about the sole proprietors who would want to pay them $.
Or maybe not - maybe they should be given a raise. You’re not considering the possibility that they’re doing an excellent job of executing on a strategic business plan to focus on larger organizational customers.
I’m not saying this is definitely the case; I don’t work for Asana and don’t have any inside info. My point is that many people here think the Asana team is comprised of idiots for ignoring solo entrepreneurs and don’t stop to consider that may be part of an intentional, strategic plan, which IMO they have every right to do if they choose to. And it’s definitely not unethical IMO. Is it unethical for Lexus to charge $60K for a car? No, because they’ve made a strategic decision as to what target market segment they are focusing on.
+1. This is what’s preventing me from upgrading.
First of all, thank you to everyone involved here for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Most importantly, thanks for your patience, as I know this has been a long-standing request among our Community and customers.
Today I’m delighted to share we’re introducing a premium and business option for small teams; you can learn more about this new option in Our most powerful features are now available for teams of 2, 3, and 4 people!.
I think this will answer a lot of requests I’ve seen on this thread but I’m conscious that some of you were requesting a single user pricing and I wanted to provide you with an update on this question too. As you know, Asana was built to help humanity thrive by enabling the world’s teams to work together effortlessly. Our features and pricing structure have been designed with that in mind. As a result, our new plans will start at 2 seats, and at the moment, we are not exploring options to launch a plan for 1 user. I’m closing this thread out for now, but if the situation evolves over time, I will make sure to re-open and keep you posted here!
I would like to be able to purchase 1 seat monthly Premium plan. I don’t understand why you would ask to pay double for a seat I don’t need. I found other topics similar and have been closed.
Hi @Rob_Meireles, thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us.
