Hello,
When my team creates a parent task or milestone, they later work on creating subtasks to finish the parent task. In MS project, it’s intuitive to assign due dates to the subtasks and the parent task’s due date is automatically calculated based on the subtasks (the simplest approach is that the parent’s due date is set automatically to the latest due date in the subtasks.) E.g.
Task A has subtasks A.1, A.2, and A.3. If A.3 has a date of 12/31/2024, and its the latest due date for subtasks A.1 to A.3, then it’s intuitive to assume that the parent A has due date of 12/31/2024.
What happens now is that the parent due date is totally disconnected from the due dates of the subtasks. What am I missing?
Thanks

Hi @HusamS,
Welcome to the forum!
The way Asana handles relations is with dependencies
Subtasks are not automatically marked as blocking the main task.
You can add this relationship (easiest is through timeline) and this will enable you to auto shift dates for dependent tasks.
To request being able to link parent and subtask due dates you can add your vote here:
Assuming this solves your issue I’m marking this as a solution. If it doesnt, please let me know.
