Outlook integration has stopped working

I fell in love with the Asana add-in for Outlook, but it suddenly stopped working yesterday. I get an error message (Could not create task. Try again?) when I try to Create Asana Task, and when I try to open the Asana Add-In, it will search/find the associated tasks but then requests me to sign in…which I do, and then it pops me back to the “search for task” screen again. Round and round I go! Anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Samantha_Caldwell, welcome to the Asana Community Forum! Let’s try to solve this together!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Outlook add-in? You can find the steps below:

I am also having the same issue. Asana Add-In for Outlook was working fine then all of a sudden it stopped working. I can see the Add-in, it is signed in and I can search for tasks. But whenever I try and create a task I get the error “Could not create task, try again?”
It works fine in Webmail, just not in Outlook.
This is in a Citrix environment and the issue occurs no matter which Citrix server I log onto (I have 9). If I get out of Citrix and open Outlook from my desktop then it works fine so I know it is not a firewall issue.
I have a development server that I have installed all patches on for Windows and Office but that did not help either.
Thanks in advance…

I am having the same issue, has worked great for months and suddenly stopped working about a week ago, exactly the same behaviour as Samantha repored. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the add in but no joy!

It did not work to uninstall/reinstall. I have to manually open Asana and create tasks or drag updates to the existing tasks. Are there other things to try?

Same issue here on our RDS environment for all users: Cannot create taskn try again?
This started last week.

I’m having the exact same issue as Andrew_Cross.

Same issue here with one of my clients.

Same issue

same issue here - uninstalling/reinstalling the add-in hasnt helped

Similar issue with Outlook 2019. No issues with Outlook 365.

As an update to this issue I have also tried using the Asana Desktop App in Citrix and this also does not work. When I use my desktop instead the App opens fine. This is most definitely something to do with Citrix Integration.

Did anyone find a solution? This just started happening to me today.

update: this seems to be working again on my end.

Yes, seems to suddenly be fixed for me, yay! It would be great if we got some feedback about what caused the issue, and if there is something on the user-end to do if it happens again in the future…
