We haven’t made any progress over the weekend @Aurelius, but our team should continue rolling it out this week  I’ll post an update here as soon as I have one internally; many thanks for your patience!

Couldn’t you add “Add to Portfolio” in that new drop down menu bar? And, agree being able to reorder the tabs that you use most, would be very beneficial!

I agree with some of the comments regarding “progress” and “conversations” hidden behind “more…”. I appreciate the goal to simplify view. Some suggestions:

In my case, I do not need it hidden behind “more…” See my header screenshot for reference. Granted, I am on a surface studio, so have some screen real estate to spare…

My post above was clipped… It should have included the following suggestions:
Can it be set by user preference? (yes, extra setting/dialog box… meh)
Can it be set automatically by use patters? (no extra setting, but may change over time resulting in confusion)
Can it be set to reduce menu to more ONLY when screen real estate requires it?

Agree with some of the above posters re: the “More” tab. I’m just about to start a new initiative to get my team using Portfolios more and the “Progress” tab is an important part of that… Really don’t want it “out of sight, out of mind.” And also agree that I have plenty of room on my screen and the previous tab layout wasn’t “cluttering” up my view at all.

Other than that, I am liking the changes!

Have to agree with other users regarding hiding conversations, progress and files under ‘more’ with progress being the most perplexing considering it’s a major component of the Portfolios feature they (Asana) presumably want you to upgrade to.

While I think the header UI changes represent a step in the right direction and certainly make the List view much more functional, there wasn’t / isn’t exactly an issue with limited space that would necessitate the use of a ‘more’ column. We don’t use Forms (don’t have access with Premium-only license) and rarely use Timeline or Calendar, so would much prefer those be tucked away. Again, I understand the desire for a cleaner interface and there must be some analytics suggesting that those hidden tabs are the least used, but I don’t see the purpose of doing that when there is plenty of space available and it’d be relatively easy to make it responsive should the user be on a smaller monitor.

+1 to this. We use Progress tab a lot. I feel this is a move to ween people toward the new ‘Portfolio’ option.

+1 on this - it’s frustrating to have to click 2x for this now, when I’m trying to get my whole team to get used to checking Conversations for important project info. Any way we can customize this? It’s important to us and I don’t appreciate this change.

I like to have all tasks sorted by due date for all projects. Before, I was able to “Save view for everyone” – and now that option is removed. Did it move somewhere else or is it eliminated entirely? This is extremely frustrating to not have, when we’re a fast moving agency and tasks will now be constantly out of due date order. Please let me know .

While I like the other changes (filtering, etc). The decision to put the [More…] menu in place and yet show the [Forms] menu (which not available to Premium level) is yet again a blatant attempt to coerce us to upgrade to a higher paid plain. There is clearly tons of room (on my Surface Pro) to not hide the Progress and Conversations menu. Furthermore, the FAQ on these changes says “highlighting the most frequently used tabs” - this is simply not true - as Premium subscriber I can’t even use Forms. Please put Progress and Conversations back on the main menu. And while you’re at it remove that ugly [Upgrade] button that’s everyone is complaining about.

Not being able to save the default view is kind of a dealbreaker for many of our projects where I need to not only choose the default sort order, but determine whether or not to display completed tasks by default.

I’d agree @Martin_Parzonka except that to really get benefit from Portfolios you need to be a regular user of Progress (updating the status to note if project is on track, at risk, etc.) and now they’ve buried that unless the new project status field displayed in the header is adjustable…

Hi,
Yeah this not being able to save default view for everyone is a major problem. I have got questions about this now from clients i work with aswell. Would really appreciate if you could add this back!

Hi @Jonas_O, @Ben_Brenner & @Lena_Masek_Roberson

The “Save view for everyone” is still available. If you click on the chevron next to the project name you will see “Save layout as default”.

Hope this helps.

Jason.

No worries @Jonas_O.

Love the new way we can sort and filter. That’s going to be a big help.

One thing I would love to see added to this, is “sort” and “group” being separate. So I may want to group by “x” and then sort by “y.”

Also, not sure why sorting doesn’t include some other options like it does in the advanced search, like:
“creation date” “modification date” etc.
