No, as I advised it would be best to contact support. (And I havenāt as I wasnāt experiencing the issue)
Donāt bother contacting support, they donāt respond. I opened multiple tickets in last 30 days and never even got a confirmation email. NO chat or phone support. Iām having continued issues with this integration/sync.
@Ben_Brenner Sorry to hear that is your experience.
Support has been having some challenges lately. I wouldnāt write them off though, as my recent experience with support was quite good.
I have to ask though, did you check your spam folder?
@Forum-team FYI
Hi @Ben_Brenner, sorry to hear that you had issues contacting Support. Looking into it, it seems your recent tickets did receive replies but were closed after a few days without a response from your side. As @Jan-Rienk mentioned, itās possible that the replies may have landed in your spam folder. Would you mind checking there?
@Vanessa_N I checked spam/junk - nothing appearing in there. Never got an email of confirmed ticket or any follow up attempts.
Thanks for the update, @Ben_Brenner . Support has confirmed that all emails show as successfully sent on their end, but it seems they arenāt reaching your inbox. Occasionally, this can happen if email servers block our communications or if there are filters in place. To help resolve this:
- Could you kindly check with your IT team to see if there are any blocks or filters preventing emails from Asana from being delivered?
- If possible, you might try using an alternative email address to submit a new request to our Support team so we can ensure responses reach you.
I hope this helps!
Hi @Vanessa_N, I have been having similar challenge as many other users expressed above with the Asana-Outlook sync appearing to only allow one person in the project to connect to a Calendar. I have synced my calendar, but how can I remove the sync in Asana (and not from Outlook, as I have removed the Asana project calendar from Outlook, but it still re-appears on Outlook).
Hi @Vanessa_N, is it only possible to sync Outlook Calendar for selective projects or do we have the opportunity to embed it into our project templates so that for every new project we create we donāt have to manually sync it again? Right now, in the template sections, I canāt find anything for apps.
Thank you
Bruno
My recollection is that no apps are supported in project templates, only directly in individual projects (which may have been created by project templates).
Thanks,
Larry
This makes sense to me as connections to apps are always provide Asana access to this app through a specific personās account.
This would prevent the situation where you get otherās peopleās tasks in your calendar upon using a template or bundle connected to your template.
Anyone else seeing something different than what the screencaps show?
I do not, no matter what options I set, get a ādurationā as is showin in the I get an āend timeā that I have to select. This kind of defeats the purpose of the integration - if Iāve got to go look at my calendar to pick an exact time to start or end, well, I may as well just schedule it in my calendar.
Thanks for this William, I would have never found a way to install the Outlook calendar sync.
Which screencaps? I donāt see a duration anywhere.
I agree the Asana interface makes it clunky to plan meetings that arenāt all day meetings. Especially since the sync is one way.
This integration has the opportunity to be so good and itās just not there. Iām still having issues with with having it be intelligent enough to not prompt scheduling a meeting at 1 in the morning and the UI/UX could be much improved.
Hi Vanessa,
I have just started working with Asana and the Calendar sync function is one of the important functionality we need. Espacially that is possible to put a time periode in.
I struggl to add calendar appointemnts longer then 2 hours. (The drop down stops there).
Is there a different way to handle it?
Thanks for your help
Checking in again a few months after this post to see if two way sync has since been added to the roadmap? Thanks
@Jonathan_Nalder With Asana the assumption no news = no development is quite a safe one.
So close and yet so far!
I was so excited about this update when it dropped, I immediately set up syncing for our team events calendar with my Outlook calendar and loved all the customisation options⦠right up until one of my workmates tried to sync the same Asana calendar with their own Outlook calendar and we discovered that once one person has synced a calendar, no one else can.
Iāve now shared the team events calendar with a new Outlook calendar I created, which I can then share with other workmates. But this means 1) Iāve had to turn off my customisations, since e.g. itās not helpful to other workmates if the only tasks syncing are ones Iām assigned to, and 2) since I own the new Outlook calendar, anyone else who wants access has to come to me, they canāt just set it up themselves.
Not ideal, Asana. Really not ideal.
