Nested portfolios - roll-up of custom fields

:light_bulb: I am working with nested portfolios, using two levels. In the lower portfolio level I am rolling up custom fields of type Number - Currency (e.g. # Budget) from projects which are part of the lower portfolio level. I have tried to roll-up these custom fields from lower portfolio level to the upper portfolio level but it does not work. Eventhough all custom fields are populated in the global library of custom fields, they do not show up on the upper portfolio level. Does anyone have solution for this?

Example:

Company Portfolio ???
|- Division 1 Portfolio # Div Budget
|- Project 1 # Budget
|- Project 2 # Budget
|- Division 2 Portfolio # Div Budget
|- Project 3 # Budget
|- Project 4 # Budget
|- Division 3 Portfolio # Div Budget
|- Project 5 # Budget

Thank you,

Currently, Asana only rolls up number and currency custom fields from projects directly into a portfolio — it doesn’t support rolling them up from one portfolio into another. That’s why your upper-level portfolio isn’t showing the values from the lower-level portfolios.

The only workaround is to either:

1. Add all projects directly to the upper portfolio (so the roll-up works).

2. Manually track the Division totals in a custom field at the upper portfolio level and update them when lower portfolio values change.

Unfortunately, true nested portfolio roll-ups aren’t supported yet.

Thanks a lot Ayush! All clear now…
