I rely heavily on My Tasks. I always keep it sorted by Due Date. I find it very frustrating that the items with due times appear at the bottom of the list for that day. It seems like a bug to me. Anything with no time is due at end of day, so shouldn’t the things due at a specific time within the day be above them?
This feature has tripped me up many times since I don’t always look at the whole “Today” list before jumping into some tasks.
For me this is sometimes problematic because tasks due 12 AM tomorrow or 4 AM tomorrow are technically “Today”, and if they are listed under a bunch of “Tomorrow” tasks it looks like some tasks really close to the due time suddenly pops up after the midnight.
I think this can be prevented if those tasks with due time are listed above the tasks without due time.
Also, it seems the order can be different depends on how you check the list.
For example:
If you sort “My task” by due date → Tasks without due time will be displayed at the top
If you sort “Search result” by due date → Tasks with due time will be displayed at the top
Could you kindly consider always listing those tasks with due time on top? Thank you!
Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
Tasks due TODAY with a time appear at the bottom of “My Task” list on Mac app (screenshot uploaded).
Steps to reproduce:
Create task which has a due date AND time for today
Create other tasks which are due today BUT have no time
Go to “My Tasks” on Asana Mac app and sort by due date
Tasks with time appear at bottom when they should really appear at top (as due time has lapsed)
Ah, I didn’t see this. It looks like it might still be a bug then is there any news on a fix being implemented, since it was raised nearly a year ago? It’s been raised as a major frustration by users in our company and everybody is looking towards me now…
Hi @James_Woods1 , I’ve faced the same frustration from clients/colleagues but I’ve found that some people find it more flexible to use their My Tasks in the Calendar’s Week view because they can sort and reorder tasks as they please - this is a ‘view’ which I believe is greatly overlooked.
Have a look at the post below - hope it helps ease the tension for some people at your company!
My boss is new to Asana and asked me about this glitch today, so I went looking for a workaround for her, and found this thread. I’m chiming in now to bump this request up, since it’s now been more than three years since this was first reported and requested. Maybe someone accidentally put a time-due on the “Fix this Bug” task so it’s always at the bottom of the developers’ task list? In all seriousness, this seems like a no-brainer and should be a very easy fix that would add significantly to a lot of people’s Asana experience. Thanks in advance for your attention.
