Hi @Keely_Culpepper - this may because a) the task was completed, and is being filtered from your My Tasks view (you can clear the blue filter button to check this), or b) the task was not assigned to you, and therefore would not show on My Tasks.
Thank you… but the tasks are assigned to me with upcoming dates. I can’t share the screen shot. This tool said I could only post 1
Oh, I see - your “Recently Assigned” section of My Tasks is currently collapsed. You need to expand this section to see the tasks in there (click the arrow to the left of the section name).
Also note that these sections can be renamed and you can create new sections to fit your needs - these are just the default section names that come out of the box.
I see them. I would prefer to get rid of this section and have them accurately load in “due today”, “due next week”, “due later”. Nothing is in those.
No problem! Where you see “Group” up the top right of My Tasks, select this and change “Sections” to “Due Date”. That should get you something closer to what you need.
Ok. I’ll play with this. Last question - and thank you for the help! What’s driving everything to load in “recently assigned”? Can i just get rid of that section and the tool be smart enough to load the other 3 based on due dates?
Those sections are just the default sections Asana has included for all new Asana users. You can modify those section names by clicking on them and editing them, as well as add new sections to fit your needs.
There’s no built in logic natively built into these sections of My Tasks. You would need to build an automated Rule in your My Tasks to facilitate the routing of tasks to specific sections based on the due date.
By default, tasks add to the first custom section of My Tasks, in this case Recently Assigned
Ah - that makes more sense. Ok. Thank you very much
