Moving Tasks in My Tasks Deletes Due Date

One of my coworkers came across this oldie but goodie.
Their My Tasks screen was on the board view and they were organizing their tasks by urgency and it was deleting their due dates. I did a google and found this thread

which references the exact issues.
Removing the sort by due date fixes the issue but it’s so easy to accidentally do. The worst part is that it doesn’t record the due date change in the task log so you can’t easily put it back to the correct due date.

@That_Sarah_Jones,

For better or worse, Asana does not see this as a bug because it’s working as intended, so I’ve moved this thread to Tips and Tricks.

Thanks,

Larry

Gotcha! In that case, does anyone have any tips to remind them not to move tasks around in “Sort by Date” :sweat_smile: Having the task log what the due date was before you removed it would be really nice!

@That_Sarah_Jones,

My tips are found here:

I don’t recommend using Due date as primary sort in the first place, and if you use it as secondary sort (Sort within section toggled on) then you won’t experience the dangerous issue.

Hope that helps,

Larry

The sort within sections is perfect! Thanks for pointing it out!
