Hi! I’m pretty new at Asana and I have set up a formular for my colleagues to send in tasks. I cannot seem to get the “Reported by” name on the task. I have tried setting up a rule where a certain emailadress equals a certain name in “Reported by” but that doesn’t work.
Do any of you know how to get people’s names on the tasks without having to make them fill out a name in the formular?
Are you using an Asana form for this? this is the best way for intake which will provide a summary of who has submitted, and any other information provided.
Hi @Gitte_Grøn_Jensen , I assume by ‘formular’ you mean a formula field rather than a form?
Many users (especially coming from Excel) think a formula field can provide a CONCATENATE function, but it doesn’t. Formula fields in Asana simply calculate dates and numbers.
Instead, in Asana you need to use a rule/automation and the action ‘Set task name’ to built it using variables such as your ‘Reported by’ custom field. Look out for the + icon on the right of the set task name modal.
