Here’s a tip that will make your life easier! :star2:

:mag: Custom Fields: Your Secret to Success

  • Sort Projects by Years:
Use a custom field to efficiently organize your projects.

  • Ideal for: Architects, Engineering Offices, Companies with long-term projects.

  • Purpose: Allows sorting and analyzing how many orders were received in which year, month, or quarter.

:date: Flexibility in Sorting:

  • Months: January, February, etc.
  • Years: 2021, 2022, 2023.
  • Quarters: Q1, Q2, Q3.

:bar_chart: Dashboard Filter for Analysis:

Filter projects by years: Like in Excel, only better!

Create diagrams for each year: Gain valuable insights and analyses, simply!

This method not only allows you to manage your projects efficiently but also helps identify important trends and developments.

Step by Step :wrench:

  1. Add a new field in the portfolio.

  2. Give the field a suitable name.

    For example:

    “Expected Project Start (Year)”

    “Order Receipt (Month)”

Choose what best suits your needs!

  3. Create selectable options.

    Years like 2022, 2021, …

    Months, quarters, etc.

  4. Save the field for your company.

This way, other team members can also use it. :arrows_counterclockwise:

  5. Now, you can assign an option to each project.

Good luck with the implementation! :rocket::chart_with_upwards_trend:

Great post, @Simon_Logé!

One thing: It’s not visible to hundreds of thousands of others in this category; I can move it to Tips and Tricks so it’s seen widely, if you are ok with that.

Thanks,

Larry
